The Travelling Shop

This morning I had a dream that I was on a bike ride with my Mum and we were in the countryside and we got to a petrol station and I really needed the loo but Mum wanted to carry on - so she carried on and I told her I'd catch her up. I found somewhere to park my bike and I went into the shop. I couldn't see the toilets so I bought some tic-tacs and while the lady served me (who just happened to look exactly the same as the clarinet teacher I used to have lessons with after school) I asked her if there were any public toilets.

No there weren't. But a man sat at a table eating a meal behind me (I think it was a joint cafe/shop thing) said I should just follow the signs outside. I thought it was odd because I was in the middle of nowhere and there had been no signs. So I finished paying and left.

I walked out of the shop and couldn't see my bike. There were lots of cars about and lots of high-rise buildings. I decided to try to cross the road and look from there, but the central reservation was one of those flat ones that people can drive on at certain times of day and it was one of them times, so I had to run back to the side of the road so I didn't get hit by a car. So I was walking up the path towards the end of the road wondering where the petrol station had gone and where my bike was and how I was ever going to catch up with Mum when I woke up.

And that was when I realised I'd been in a travelling shop and it had travelled while I was in it!
